I Need Your Help!

We are wanting to get Granite Countertops.
I have searched for a really long time and I have finally found the best company!
So, here are the final two choices, but hubs and I don't agree (are you surprised? I'm not)!
I won't tell you which one I like the best but I am giving you the opportunity to look at my kitchen
(yes, I cleaned it for you..your welcome)
and make your best choice!

They are both beautiful, but I like the 2nd choice, the darker color.

2nd choice!

Beautiful kitchen!

Shannon said...

I like # 2 the best.

I like them both... but I would go for #2 : ) Beautiful Kitchen!

Mrs. M said...

I think the darker color might go better with the cabinets. But I think the lighter color might really pop in the room too.

Not much help, am I? :)

Tracy P. said...

Gosh, Tarah, I don't know--I still have formica or something. But I'm drooling over your kitchen! I think the darker one probably matches better.

Angie said...

I think either one would be beautiful, and by the way, I'm so jealous! #2 seems to be the popular choice, but I'm going to be different and say #1 because I think it will lighten the kitchen up a little. Like I said, either way, your kitchen will be beautiful!

Lori said...

the darker color is the more "in style", but I would lean more towards the lighter one personally. I think the lighter one will bring out the grain in your cabinets

Kim @ Homesteader's Heart said...

Okay first let me get over my kitchen envy, go repent and come back. Will you wait? Hold on...........I'm back.
I'm going with choice #2. It just blends better with the cabinets, appliances and the floor!
Let us know what you pick!
Hugs
Kim

I have the darker granite in my master bathroom and something very similar to your lighter choice in my kitchen. Your kitchen is very similar to mine and with all the darker wood, I decided that I needed to lighten things up a bit. I am really glad that I did too. I think the lighter one would go really well with your beautiful backsplash too.

Trish said...

you need to go with the darker color on the contertops to contrast with the lighter cabnets.

....just sayn'

He & Me + 3 said...

I think that choice 2 goes better, but that choice one would brighten it up some. Hmmm. #2 I guess is my choice.

christy rose said...

Love your kitchen! I pick 2nd choice! They both would be beautiful!

Jennifer W. said...

I'd go with #1 just cause #2 is going to darken the overall look of the kitchen and I'm all about balance. They're both great though! What a beautiful kitchen!

i don't know if this is gonna help, or not...but, i like number 2 the best...but, think that number 1 might be better for the kitchen!

i think number 1 goes better with the backsplash...and oh do i love that backsplash! i'm trying to talk jake into doing one for me! i want brick shaped tile!

MommyLisa said...

I like #1 the best with the rest of the kitchen. It will help pick up the lighter tiles in the backsplash and tie it all together.

Unknown said...

Hey! I love your kitchen so bright!!! I think the 2nd choiceis it!I like darker though...I wished I had gone dark That's why!

Steph said...

Im gonna have to go with choice one. I like that it will contrast a little and brighten it up. And I LOVE your kitchen btw. Good Luck!

K said...

First, I love your kitchen. It's beautiful! I believe I like choice #2 best. I think it'll go well with the light cabinets and the stainless steel appliances. Good luck making a decision. I can't wait to see the final product!

I like choice #1. I think it will brighten up your kitchen. Choice #2 is similar to what you already have. Good luck picking!

Based upon my experience of living with three guys - I like the darker one...shows less dirt!!! ;-)

P.S. What a great kitchen!

Bridget said...

Okay, first I'm going to finish having a fit of jealousy over your GORGEOUS kitchen!!.......

okay, pity party is over and I'm all about choice #2.

Rachel said...

Yikes... I'm just drooling over your kitchen (while I not-so-patiently wait for my own new one!)

The darker one is BEAUTIFUL - but I'd go with the lighter one just for some contrast and to show off the colors.

But I'm rather unpopular, eh? hee hee

Carrie said...

I like them both too...but my first thought was number 2...I like the darker color with the backsplash, but the lighter color would really look good with the cabinets...but I'm no designer...we still have laminate, haha! Either choice will look beautiful! Your kitchen it gorgeous! Have fun choosing!

Melyssa said...

Tarah - wow that is hard. I really like the darker one- but the light one would be fun. Again not much help. I think that the lighter one would be more unique and different! Can't wait to see it done!

Rhonda said...

Yay...granite, I love it. I think #1 is the way to go to help lighten up the space.

Alicia The Snowflake said...

I like #2 personally. But I think either one would be beautiful. Can't wait to see the final result!

Darcie said...

I am going to go with the lighter one..#1 mostly for the same reasons as other that like #1...it will lighten it. To much dark can get dreary...ask me I know. Just my opinion.

mama's smitten said...

Hey ! I've missed ya! Great Kitchen... I like #2.

Carol said...

I think I would go with the lighter because it will brighten your already-beautiful kitchen. Either one will look great!

Brooke said...

You have a beautiful kitchen! I like them both, but #2 the best. Good luck!

Beth in NC said...

I like the 2nd choice. I have Verde Peacock in my kitchen and it is dark like this. I love it!!!

Both are nice though and whatever you like will be awesome!

fraizerbaz said...

Definitely the darker color. (But, that's just my opinion!)

Tanya said...

I like #2 better, but it's your kitchen and it beautiful!

Your kitchen is GORGEOUS!!!!!!

I do like the darker of the two when I see the look of the entire kitchen.

(ooh, if you have any money left over in your budget, I will like the same granite for my kitchen too ;)

I like #2 & I have kitchen envy :)

You have a beautiful kitchen, but I am not much help in the area.. I'm lost when it comes to stuff like this..
good luck.

Kameron said...

I vote 2nd choice. Was that a hint though that you called them first and second choice?? Hmmm...

Emily said...

First I just want to comment and say I LOVE your kitchen! Its beautiful!

I think choice #2 matches perfectly with the darker wood and appliances, BUT choice #1 would stand out and make everything else just pop out and look amazing!

Jenni said...

I am so jealous of your kitchen I can't even STAND it! Gorgeous!

Anonymous said...

2nd choice I think. I've been watching waaay too much HGTV because I was looking back and forth for a bit before I decided.

Summer said...

I can't decide!!!!

I really like the backsplash though!!! =)

Miti said...

Your kitchen is so pretty! I do like both choices but I'm thinking the darker one would blend a little better. I can't wait to pick out all my materials for our house. We're still waiting to burn those trees. Who would have thought it would be so hard to start a fire.

Bits-n-Pieces said...

oh your kitchen is already gorgeous!!! I have the #2 countertop in my kitchen. I like it b/c it doesn't show stuff...but I sometimes have to get down "eyelevel" to make sure I've gotten everything off of it when cleaning it! lol

Jennifer Haas said...

I like them both in fact I have the darker one in my house, but the lighter one might look better in your kitchen, with the wood floors. I think it will brighten it up!

More Than Words said...

I say 2nd. It will lighten up the room!

More Than Words said...

Oh..and I love your kitchen!!!

Heather said...

First of all, LOVE your kitchen!

Second of all, thanks for cleaning it for us. That was sweet of you. : )

Thirdly, I have NO idea which one to choose. Like everyone is saying, I like #2, but #1 would really "pop." My only real opinion is to go with the darker one because lighter colored granite (like we have) can show water marks... although they disappear, sometimes they take awhile and will drive you mad in the meantime. But maybe that's because we have granite tiles, not slab. If I leave a glass of water, it'll leave a ring. We actually have a permanent stain from a bowl of something Chad left (cereal? not sure)... there's a slight ring on the counter.

Good luck!

I think the lighter one will make things pop more. You have a beautiful kitchen!

BonBon Rose Girls Kristin said...

I like the lighter version. There is so much dark already in your gorg kitchen, that I think the contrast would be cool!

Anonymous said...

Hi, what's wrong with the counter tops you have now? From the pictures it really looks nice and it already goes well with the backsplash?

Mocha Momma said...

I love your kitchen. It's gorgeous!

I like choice one. At first I preferred the darker one, but I think the kitchen could use some more light.

Both are great choices so whatever you get it's gonna be beautiful.

Take care,
Nannette
