We're going to Miami

Bouncin in the clubs all night long or lyin on the beach till the break of dawn....we're goin to Miami...Un benito en Miami!!!

Erik and I are in Miami to celebrate our 10 Year Anniversary! We had a really long delay on our flight yesterday so our dinner last night was canceled. We opted to head downtown and these were a couple of our views....are you kidding me? There is no way that I could live here...to many beautiful people....It would definatly make me motivated to be skinny! Everyone in their bathing suits....YIKES, I am getting old!
We have lots planned for the next couple of days, Boat Rides, Beach Days, Spa, and the Ever Glades.

Check back cuz I should have a lot of pictures!

A little quiet around here...

Greetings from a really quiet home this week. Yesterday was a very productive day for me, one that I have not had like that in a while. I was able to:

A) Get a ton of store visits done
B) Paint my outdoor shutters
C) Paint my outdoor sidewalk and basement patio
D) Organize and clean our office (4 garbage bags later...where does it all come from)?
E) Get all of the "extra" items from my garage sale onto the front porch for a charity organization to come and get them.
Not to mention a few minor things like take a shower, put laundry away, wash more and catch a full episode of the bachelorette without interruptions.....=) Looks like Ghram is a goner..I guessed it last week, way to insecure about the whole process.....what's in the letter? That was sad....for DeAnna.
I know that the boys are having fun at Nanna and Poppis and well as at the Power Lab VBS...They do really cool things there. But I miss them! So In honor of Power Lab and of Ghram getting the boot on the bachelorette, that is what I blog about today!

A Peaceful Day!

Erik and I are up north while we are dropping our kids off with Nanna and Poppi for the next 8 days...please say a prayer for them (Nanna and Poppi that is)! As Erik and I celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary, my parents were kind enough to take my rug-rats!

We were driving around today and I found this really pretty tree....I feel the urge to always take pictures of the landscape items that are around here....it seems so peaceful and serene, the beautiful colors on this tree just make me want to stare at it for hours.....after a long car ride there is nothing like something like this to make you smile....

Hope you like it as much as I did!

Golfing Guys

I'm sure that most of you ladies can sympathize with me when I say that I am sometimes a "Golf Widow". Just about as much as my husband can sympathize with all the other men that he is a "Scrap Book Widower" LOL!

The proof begins at a very young age (I would say around 3 1/2 or 4) when a boy learns to understand a couple rules of this wonderful game:
1. You can be as foolish and childish as you want, heck you are practically in the middle of the woods....
2. You are your toughest Critic...Especially when you are your own opponent!

3. There will be at least (1) shot that you wish you could take back....
(we call those mulligans)...
4. Somehow at least one of your friends seem to make it look flawless!
5. Just about the time you are starting to get into the groove.....the game is done!
After picking up clubs for the 1st time 2 years ago, I am beginning to understand the golf serenity that my Grandfather always spoke about.

The Fenns have found yet another sport to be Thankful fore!

Park Play

I have made a vow to myself to try and do something fun with the kids every day that we are at home together. There are a couple of days a week where they are going to summer programs so it is not feasible everyday because things like laundry, grocery shopping and cleaning still need to get done.

So, today we packed up a lunch and headed for a really great big park that is not far from home. We went with my good friend and neighbor and her 2 daughters. Mason and Jaxon had a great time with Julia and Maria. Here are a couple of our pics from today.

Let's enjoy summer!

Fathers Day - Day 2

We took a lot of great photos yesterday but I really wanted to share the boys pictures at the pond so today I am having another homage to Fathers Day!
Erik received a new golf driver and a subscription to the Wall Street Journal. He has been asking me for this since Christmas....finally got around to it! The boys also made him a really cute frame that says "nuts about dad" with nuts and bolts. It is really cute! Also, Mason made a Home Depot tool apron with his hand prints on it.
Later we visited the "Stone Arch Art Festival" which is downtown by the old bridge. This is where I got the really great shots of all my guys...of course, if you talk to Erik, I complained the whole way down because I was wearing heels and the river was rushing through the concrete which was sort of scary. The boys just called it "Exploring" I called it, an accident waiting to happen! LOL!

Happy Fathers Day!

The Fenn Family would like to wish a very Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers and Grandfathers who might take a gander at this blog!
We had a day filled with breakfast in bed, the driving range, and a little art festival by the stone arch bridge in Minneapolis.
The world is a better place for all the baseball pitches, daddy days out, and all of the other wonderful things that you do, I know that I do not say enough!

Summer Fun....Finally

Enough chores and errands & work...."We Want To Go To The Pool"!
Words I was not sure that I would hear this summer but lo and behold....an 80 degree day!
The pics speak volumes about how much my children love to swim and hang out at the pool.....

The rest of the evening is relaxing when they are tuckered out!

Extra Innings..

Looks like since I have taken sooo many pictures over the last week that I have a few in excess....no time like the present to post some of my favorites! I am in LOVE with the ones of Mason at the Laundry mat...these are for sure getting framed and put in my laundry room....

Till the next blog....

Four that Love....

The Fenn Family has been enjoying a great summer past time...TENNIS! Both Jaxon and Mason are learning the game and Mom and Dad get a really great kick out of watching Mason trying to swat the ball and yell "LOVE". Jaxon is learning to place the ball where he wants it to go (but for right now that seems to be more in the pond
than on the court)!
I can say is that we are Four that LOVE
a little Family Tennis Time!

Copy Cat

This weekend I went up to the cabin with my 2 lovely cherubs, my good friend Kate and her adorable children Peyton (same age as Jaxon) and Kinsley (same age as Mason). All in all the kids played really well, we had some much needed Mom time as well as a little "adult" time while the kids were sleeping...
On Saturday we packed up the kids to go find a barn to take some pictures at...but we also did a copy cat session of one of Kate's good friends Mandy. She is a great photographer and she took these ADORABLE pictures of her kids in a laundromat for her laundry room....well so did we....here are a couple of them with many more to come! I took over 200 photos! Insane....
Thanks again 3/4's of the Chapman family for the invite...3/4's of the Fenn's enjoyed ourselves at your PALACE on the lake!

A Girly Night.....

Very rarely do I get a girly night....now I am not talking about a Girls night out with other ladies doing adult stuff, I am talking about little girls stuff like going to dance lessons, gymnastics, theatre ect....I get baseball games, hockey games, piano lessons, language...and as much as I love going to all of my boys events, it is the one thing that makes me want a little girl.
So, a couple of my neighbor friends invited me to their daughters 1st dance recital. They are both 3 and it was soo cute! Of course there was competition dancer all the way through high school as well as adults...(the dads group was hilarious)!
Here are a couple of the pics that I took of the event last night. Of course there was NO FLASH photography which is a nightmare. Our seats were close but sometimes that makes it worse...so they are not the best that I have done but I am happy with the few quality shots that I got.

Until the next blog....

2nd Grade here we come!!!

Today was the last day of 1st Grade for Jaxon. I know it is a cliche but seriously, where does the time go? I am very emotional about it....HE IS NOT! His teacher taught him so much this year and his mind was like a sponge. Now, if I can only get him interested in his handwriting quality, we might have a recipe for a great summer!
Lots of things planned this summer, one thing on my list. Read Books. I really slacked on this last summer and I am determined this summer to make up for it. Did you know the national average for a child reading outside of school is 7 minutes per day? That's not even a book! I also got a really great idea from Kate today to laminate some bible scriptures so that they can practice that....Hmmm wonder whos laminator I'll be using LOL!
So, to all us Mom's....lets make it happen this summer! I know we get busy with Play dates, Camps, Music lessons, art classes and sports but lets remember to take some time out to read (and in Jaxon's case...write!)
Congratulations Jaxon! You have done your personal best this year and that makes us more proud than any of these bloggin words!

Wallet Busters

A girlfriend of mine has asked me to participate in a focus group for women who get their hair professional done. We receive some free haircare products, free dinner and drinks for an hour of our time!! Sounds pretty exciting to me!

So, as part of the process I had to take pictures of my hair care products ( or what my husband refers to as "Wallet Busters"). This can be a myriad of many things...shoes, Starbucks, purses, haircare, Starbucks, fingernail polish...all the fru fru stuff that a girl must have that a man OBVIOUSLY does not need!

Once again, I am pleased to announce that it "Takes a Village" of hair care products to give me the doo that roughly lasts till noon and then needs a touch up with other lovely products....Kudos to the marketing individuals for not only hair care but Starbucks...You MUST be laughing all the way to the bank!!!

"King for the Day"

Today was a day where a new schedule began (meaning Mason started Summer AM preschool) and an old schedule comes to an end (meaning Jaxon's last week of school). These days are always bitter sweet for me, aside from the fact that I take 3 Advil before I even get to school...could you imagine if I was a teacher???

Any who...I picked Mason up from school and headed over to Jaxon's school for our 1st annual Track and Field Day! We had the shoe kick, long jump, 4-40 relay, tug-o-war, obstacle course, hurdles, and baseball throw! The kids had a great time. I had to drag Mason along with me and that was a little stressful...or a lot depending on who you speak to....=)

All that I know is that school seems to be much more about team work than when I attended, everyone cheered one another along even if they were in last place, I really hope that my kids grow up with that kind of attitude that sticks with them. It made me really proud as well as made me unbelievably grateful to teachers. Especially Mrs Klugow this year. She was a ROCK STAR! None of us could have done it without her! So, from the bottom of my heart, I say THANK YOU teachers for making this world a better place and for taking the much needed time to nurture and develop our children into strong, honest, and caring individuals, you make it easy to keep it up at home!

Muchas Gracias Senora Klugow!!!

A Much Needed Family Day

Ahhh, I have felt like I was ignoring my whole family for the last 2 weeks in preperation for the garage sale. Now that it is over, I looked forward to a great day with the kids and hubby too! Erik wanted to take the kids to a festival that we have here called Grand Old Days (GOD for short) HA! It is basically like a mini - state fair...all the food, music and people watching you could ask for. I took these pictures by some of the really big mansions on the streets....They are georgeous and I never get to photograph them because it is not convienient. So, my kids were guinny pigs.....

Then, it was time to head to the mall for mom to pick up some new items of clothing since she sold everything she owns in the sale (he wishes)!

We grabbed a bite to eat and then took the boys for a swim up at the pool.
All in all, a great day, Boys behaved and mom and dad were glad!
Sunday...busy Sunday!
