Cheese Curds (yes, we are truly Minnesotan)!

Cloudy...with a chance of MOTHERHOOD?

Dear Children's Film Makers/Writers/ Editors/ and Producers-

A family decides to check out a movie on a given Sunday afternoon, and something ragingly perplexing ensuses. A plot without a mother. And NOW...NOW, this MOTHER is fighting back. Not sure who's ear this will bend on but I have to say that I am no longer taking my children to movies anymore until I know what the plot premise is. Can someone PLEASE tell me why Mothers are not very prominent in children's movies? Are we overbearing? Do we empower our children too much? Are we scene stealers??? Seems to me like Dads seems to do just fine as a main character...so why not us? Here are just a couple of examples of movies and the plots which are excluding MOTHERS......

The latest movie where Mom just randomly dies.......
Cloudy with not a chance of a Mother chance of meatballs...

One of my personal un favorites......BAMBI

Ahhhh..Ahhhhh...Ahhh...Ahhhhhahhhhhh.....Yet another Mom-Busting plot.....Maybe she is Under the Sea...

You get the Limo out front...hottest styles every shoe every color.... But you don't get a MOM.
Still don't understand why Hannah Montana does not have a mom in the picture....would she be Jealous?

Not even fish can "Catch" a break...Nemo doesn't have a MOM either....

Be my guest...Be my guest...Can someone help me with this MOM quest????

Bippity Boppity Boo...Who's gotta Mom??? Not you....(Cinderella)

A whole new world, thats where we'll be....a better place for you and ME...(unless you are a mother).

Would Pinnochio's nose have grown if he mentioned his Mommy?

Not even in the jungle. We can't even get a loin cloth?

Perhaps MOM is one of the colors of the wind...

And here was another more recent movie...UP, I mean someone could have warned me that within 3 minutes into the movie I would have to explain to my 3 year old why the woman obviously died from cancer or some other horrible illness. Please people, we KNOW that bad things happen in real life. Do we really have to depict this in a 2 hour movie that I paid $50 for my family of 4 to see? I'm guessing NO..

Curious what your thoughts on this are...

Tales from my mind...RANDOM

I know that these days just seem to keep running together.
Would someone please remind me to tell myself that I need to slow down a little bit,
I thought once the boys were in school that I would be living in the lap of luxury....well uh..
are you kidding me? I am now in my car more hours of the day then I am at my house including sleep.
NOT EXACTLY....
After this past week, this is where my mind goes when I think of Carpool!!!
If you want to read more about random tales from my mind ..please check out my post at FIVE MOMS !

QB the Flanker....

What an eventful week we've got going on over here. On Tuesday night, after his 1st day of school, QB had his 1st football scrimmage. This is his 1st year playing tackle football (and mom is not super thrilled about it). Is it possible to feel like my kids are safer on the ice then they are on the football field?
I think it is because in hockey, you only get smashed up against the boards if you have the puck...in football, your getting tackled or giving a tackle either way. More risk for injury? Yes, I think so!!! ;)
Our football team is the Blaine Wildcats! GRRRR.
QB is one of the smallest on the team and his position is Flanker....never heard of it until my son my became one. Then, I did a little research and YES it is a legitimate football term. Initially, it sounded like a word verification if ever I heard one!
He 2 great tackles and a fumble recovery.
He was a little dissapointed that he did not get to carry the ball but we have only just begun!!! ;)

Receivers week of firsts

I'm not sure how much more I can take.
My littlest guy (who admittedly is NOT so littlest) has become a MAN.

Not just according to him but according to Tight End, and Quarterback as well.

Which means in all honesty, I can't ignore it any longer.

Aside from my little guy Man being a kindergartner this week....
He started Hockey!

We are sooo proud of him, he set foot on the ice, without assistance and muddled through a whole practice of course he took a couple of breaks as well as a tiny crying fit
(just proves to me that he might still be a little little)!

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt because no other kids had to deal with Glasses and a helmet. A cross both of my boys have to bear for sports!!
Receiver is taking Intro Mites with one of his neighborhood buddies, and I am hoping to have pictures of them together next week. Just a little too chaotic this week!!!

Way to go receiver, Mom, Dad and QB are ready for you to Score, Score, Score
stay on your skates and learn the game!

I Heart Faces..School Collage

I'm really excited about this week at I Heart Faces! Here is my collage. Today was SOOO bittersweet. My baby is a kindergartner and unlike his big brother,
when it came to kindergarten, he did not shed a tear!
I was sooo proud of him, and then I balled like a baby myself in the parking lot.
What is a Mom to do? I feel them slipping slowly out of my hands!!!

I'm thankful for photographs. I know that I will hold onto them forever.
And I am thankful for I Heart Faces for bring a collage into the mix this week!

Good Luck to all this week who enter!

I know..I know...

Yes, I have selfishly been blogging ONLY for myself the past couple of weeks. I really apologize to all of the followers on my sidebar who I have neglected. I am making a priority this week to catch up with everyone and leave some SERIOUS comments for all my guys and gals who have been still showing up to give me some love!!!

♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦

Here comes some randomness....

I'm feeling pretty caught up...clean house, laundry done, rooms painted, school shopping, groceries and bills and paperwork are all filled out....

Ahhhh, amazing what NOT blogging does for your personal life!

I have a Kindergartner.

It's official. Tomorrow at 12:30pm, he will no longer be a preschooler.

I am really trying hard not to let it overwhelm me.

**Someone, please call to check and make sure that I left the school parking lot**

I started reading the book "Boundaries with Kids"....

I HIGHLY recommend it....GREAT BOOK and I am on chapter 3!!!

We test drove a bunch of Used cars today. Honestly, it was a pretty somber experience. Made me realize just how much our economy has really suffered. On the flip side, if you are in the market for a car, this is a great time to buy one...Still on the hunt for the "perfect" mobile for me and fam...I've informed my hubs that I need a "HOT" car...to make up for the fact that I am NOT HOT. (My 2010 pinto is on back order..wink wink)
I leave you with a photo of my boys...
both asleep in their beds, awaiting the 1st day of school.

Remember those nights..where you tossed and turned?

A prayer for my boys...and for all your kiddos too!

I pray a year of excelling academically, making good decisions, being a good friend as well as meeting new friends, putting forth the best effort and letting GOD be in all the decisions that they make. I ask that they be strong in character, desire, and playfulness to allow them to grow throughout this year.

A Messy Good Time...

I'm highlighting a really fun place here in the Minneapolis area called Kiddywampus! It is a really great art studio and gift shop where you can go and get your PAINT on!!! Several neighborhood friends traveled to this little place where our kids could create masterpieces in the confines of a room that was NOT our home!! ;)
Here is a peek into our field trip!

Since I am all about Messes in OTHER places....this was Fabulous!

Only 4 more days left of Summer...and we are SQUEEZING it all in...How about you?
