You know how parenting can be exhausting? What..your kids don't exhaust you?
OK, so maybe I am a minority here.
The deal is this tho... BOTH of my boys are gone this week. QB is at his 1st every week long camp (might I add the 1st time he has ever been away without Mom, Dad, Nanna or Poppi). I'm sure that he is having an amazing time but I am missing not talking to him. I mean, even at Nanna's the phone works! What am I missing out on his little life that he needs to tell me...Oh yeah, I forgot, this camp has a website update every day and this little boy sanded and painted his own SURF board today????? How can I compete with that and better yet, how can I bring that darn thing home on top of my car? Back to the point...I MISS HIM!
And the little guy...my little receiver, he is with Nanna and Poppi at VBS this week. What has he done? He has told a volunteer worker that her chest is not even..yes, this is the child who has NO FILTER...he speaks of color, size, shape, and abnormalities like we speak of lunch or dinner. I need some ideas on this one because we have steadily spoke to him about how God makes people in all shapes, sizes and colors and that even though we look different we treat each other the same. HELP! I'm not even with him this week and that little re fried bean explosion is seeming so harmless right now!!!!
So, while the boys are away I have done some things that I just NEVER do for myself, my home or my husband..I pay attention to all of them!!!
These are the rules:
*No Laundry (till the boys are back with loads and loads)
*Eating out (healthy but not home cooked)
*Pedicure/Manicure (this one was all me)
*Pool - By myself at least 3 hrs with a book.
*Dinner or Lunch with Girlfriends who you NEVER see anymore!
*Staying up until 2am blogging LOL!
*Give hubs a long kiss in the morning and a long kiss at night
(OK, maybe more but this is family friendly)!
Hope you are all having a great week! Miss you all!
40 CHEERS from the Crowd!:
Hi Tarah! I can imagine how quiet it is in your house right now! I can imagine how much you're missing your boys! And how nice to have some time for yourself too! When they come back, it'll seem like they never left..LOL!
Dang girl! That sounds like a mini vacation!!! Though I know you miss your kids as would I but it's only a week and it will go FAST! Enjoy your time my friend.
Kim
Her chest is uneven?!?!?! LOL I don't know what you can tell him other than keep his observations to himself. lol
I know you miss them but ENJOY your last couple of days! Pool time, alone with a book? Ahhhhh!!!! Wonderful!
Love!
Beth
wow sounds like a great week to me... a week of just doing you stuff!
Awww...I'd be missing them, too! But soak up every second of peace and quiet and they'll be back before you know it. The comment about the uneven chest is hilarious! :)
Oh wow! I bet your house is VERY quiet! I know it's hard having them gone. But enjoy your time while you can. You deserve it my friend!
So that is why you haven't called me back. LOL
Sounds good to me to do all those things.
Enjoy your week free because it will all be over soon enough. I can't believe we are almost to Friday here. Time flies!
Niiiiiiice! I am jealous! Enjoy every second of it!
How funny. Riley told me last night that one boob is bigger than the other. Thanks Riley! And I couldn't just say "Everyone's are different and uneven" cuz she'd have rolled her eyes and I'd have known she was thinking "Yea right!"
Oh well, just wait til she gets her lopsided boobs! Then I'll be sure to point it out. Ok, maybe I won't, but still!
Sorry you're missing your little guys. I would be going nuts! But at least you have a great list to work on. I love that list!!!!
OMG, can I just live vicariously through you for a minute?? I can just imagine the silence and sleep opportunities that await you! Have lots of fun. One question...where exactly is your son going to use a surf board where you live?? :o)
I haven't been to your site recently. It looks so great! But what's up with that? Athletic supporter? Would that be like a jock strap?
heehee I can't believe I wrote that. Forgive me, I couldn't resist!
There is always the pros and cons to everything, huh? You miss them when they are gone...but oh the things you can do, or not do when they aren't there.
Enjoy your time...or try at least! :o)
I'm sure you miss them but can I say that I am jealous!!!!!!!!!! :) Have a wonderful week!
Well, since he's only 4 he will outgrow it. For now you can tell him that it's not polite to comment on other people's bodies, etc.
My son at the age of four told my new neighbor that she needed to clean her house. Can you imagine?
And one four year old told somebody else that they had bad breath!
Have a lovely child-free week as you are about to get busy again real soon once they return, lol!
Hi Tarah!
So happy you stopped by today...I appreciate your sweet comments! It's always nice to have a little time to yourself, but I'm always glad to have everyone back together, again! Milk it for all it's worth!
How fun for the boys and you! I would love a week to myself! Brendan's church camp isn't happening this year, so no camp for them! Gotta love 24/7 kid duty!! Your week sounds delightful!
I am missing my girls too! But I still have other kids here this week. so not alone time for me. :( Oh well that is ok! I wouldn't have it any other way! Enjoy your week!
Christy
Hope you can enjoy your time alone. (I know exactly what you mean, tho!) Can't wait to see pics next week!
good for you friend!!!!
As much as you miss your little men (and they do sound like they are having a blast!), it is great that you are doing for YOURSelf and your awesome man.
Enjoy!!!
That sounds blissful! I want to know what camp he's at. A friend encouraged me to send my son to camp this year, but dad couldn't imagine him gone Sunday to Saturday. I love camp, so I could...maybe yours is closer???
I know you miss your boys, but yayy for you for making the most of your time alone!!
Sienna leaves for camp on Sunday. We're camp virgins, too. A surfboard - that's awesome! And I love your rules. Stick to em!
Thanks for your kind words about our son. He's a great kid!
So your little guy is a big helper and likes to speak his mind. Pray & I'll pray.
That MeMe, 6th photo challenge, came from somewhere before Art's Cili sent it. I wonder how long it's been going around? It was fun.
If I can't think of what to write I'll just do that again.
Have a great week. I know how it is to miss the kids especially when they're with you 24/7.
I always feel bad when I find out they were homesick or they "hated" the camp. My son is sort of a home body, but he's going camping with friends for 3 or 4 days soon. I hope he'll like that.
Take care
Nannette
I thought you homeschooled, but I just checked after I said when your kids are with you 24/7. Oops!
It's hard to keep everyone straight in blog land.
Oh well that's all I had to say
Oh! I am so jealous! Of course I say this now but I'll be so missing my boys if they ever go anywhere without me...
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
I'm sitting her laughing tears. Just so you know I too have a child with a broken filter. She makes sure she comments whenever someone is smoking, has something in their teeth, has bad hair, smells or looks pregnant even if their not. My only advice is make sure your quick with your hand to cover their mouth up really fast and know where the quickest exit is EVERYWHERE you go!
Sounds like a great week. Enjoy your time.
Hope you enjoyed your week of relaxing. I'll be in your shoes in 2 weeks when the kids are at Y camp. Can't wait!
LOVE your new look!
Hope you had a great week pampering yourslef and missing your kiddos. I can't wait to hear how camp went. My little guys will be old enough to go next year!
Ahhh, "you" time!! My boys are camping this weekend and my girl will join them tonight. Ahh, guess what time the baby is going to bed!? EARLY!!!!! Enjoy it!
I'm slightly jealous... manicure, pedicure, pool, and girlfriends... yeah, that totally doesn't happen over here. As cute as they are, I understand missing your boys, but enjoy it all while you can!
So fun. I can't even begin to imagine what I would do with a week at home all to myself. I get one day a year...when Hubby takes the kids Christmas shopping...and I usually am lost. Good for you to make the most of it and pamper yourself instead of slaving around the house...which is probably what I would end up doing.
My kids were all gone last week. I enjoyed the alone time, but missed them like crazy too.
Enjoy your "me" time and try to remind yourself often that you deserve it.
I love your blog. It is so cute!
How old is your boy who's at camp? I'm afraid to let mine go! However, the way you're spending your time is exactly what I would do! Maybe I could let him go for a short trip. : )
I must say that I am with all of your other fans here. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
For one week, your life is very, very good. Is it OK to admit that I am jealous?
-Francesca
The boys always used to love to play downstairs when they were little.
That's where their playroom was.
It also helped keep noise to a minimum, especially when they had friends over.
Great list. Especially love the no laundry rule! Wonderful rule!
Thanks for stopping by my site. Please feel free to come back anytime, I'll leave the light on for you!
You know, I read that comment and had no idea it was you until you left the next comment, lol!
